With the development of these technologies, industries began to grow, leading to increased mobility and the globalization of trade.

The Second Industrial Revolution introduced electricity, airplanes, cars, and factory engines, marking a transition to the electrical era. This period was marked by a wave of new inventions and technological breakthroughs that transformed production methods, significantly altering everyday life in ways that were once unimaginable. It was an era where human capabilities were augmented by machines in unprecedented ways.

The Third Industrial Revolution—which highlighted the role of electronic computing, aerospace advancements, and biotechnologies—saw the emergence of information technology as a critical component in shaping human lifestyle and cognition. New materials, renewable energy sources, and breakthroughs in biology again revolutionized the way people interacted with their environments, leading to changes in agriculture, health care, and urban development.

Now, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, characterized by AI, is set to redefine not only production methods but also daily living patterns. Currently, AI technology has seamlessly integrated into our lives, often without us even realizing it. From facial recognition systems to voice-activated assistants, the pervasive presence of AI is reshaping interactions in both personal and professional spheres.

The intelligence of AI stems from its ability to learn from vast amounts of data through deep learning methods. This involves using artificially constructed neural networks designed to automatically extract features from data, thus enabling the formation of robust algorithms for problem-solving. Over recent years, the capacity of AI systems has expanded, allowing them to process increasingly complex information and continuously learn and optimize. The extent of this optimization is becoming ever more profound.

Consider visual recognition technology: when humans view an image or a video, they immediately latch onto key information, allowing for a quick, instinctive judgment. In contrast, AI breaks down the visual content into countless images, each analyzed and recognized separately before being reconstructed to form an overall understanding. Though this process might sound intricate, it demonstrates the incredible computational power of advanced algorithms, exemplified in applications such as real-time driver fatigue detection and facial recognition.

In the realm of AI-powered responses, the initial training phase involved scientists teaching computers as one would teach children—progressing from simple phonetics and vocabulary to complex grammatical structures. As AI has evolved through deep learning, its capabilities in natural language processing have grown significantly, resulting in sophisticated applications like virtual assistants and customer service bots. The success of models like GPT-3 has revolutionized the field by showcasing the immense potential of AI in language comprehension and generation.

The recent release of GPT-4 builds upon the foundations established by its predecessor, GPT-3. While GPT-3 was notorious for its occasional inaccuracies, GPT-4 introduces further optimizations that enhance its capabilities. It can now handle visual and auditory inputs and perform tasks such as website programming based on user needs. Such achievements have left many astonished.

One of my friends recently expressed a poignant thought: "Throughout our lives, we've faced numerous instances of illiteracy or ignorance in our capabilities—initially in reading and writing, later in utilizing computers, and now in programming. With the emergence of tools like ChatGPT, we don't even need to learn programming anymore." It is both a blessing and a challenge, as the pace of AI advancements also creates new literacy expectations—those who do not engage with these developments risk being left behind, equated to illiteracy in the digital age.

As the growth and learning speed of AI surpass our abilities, we must ask ourselves how to adapt. The answer lies in embracing the unique emotional and cognitive faculties of human beings. Despite the impressive capabilities of AI, it lacks the physical form and sensory awareness that characterize humanity. AI cannot genuinely understand human emotions or empathetic responses; it is fundamentally an amalgamation of algorithms devoid of human experience.

Even as AI becomes more advanced, it must operate under human oversight—a fundamental boundary that cannot be overlooked. If AI's superior algorithms enable it to excel in reading, writing, and other cognitive tasks, we must focus on amplifying our innate human strengths. Skills involving emotional depth, creative thinking, independent learning, and critical analysis are attributes that AI cannot replicate. Our partnership with AI should be constructive, harnessing its capabilities to enhance human-centric experiences; AI can serve as a companion for the elderly, a tutor for children, or a consultant for businesses, offering tailored solutions around the clock.

Just as prior industrial revolutions catalyzed an increase in productivity, a harmonious coexistence with AI can similarly elevate living standards. We must remain vigilant of what makes us distinctly human and cultivate those traits, ensuring we do not lose what defines our humanity in the wake of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence. Striking a balance between harnessing AI's potential while nurturing our human identity will be essential as we navigate this new era.
